RCH Attempts to Fix Blender's Rotation Bug - Part 1 (2024)

Ever try to rotate an object in Blender, only for it to freak out? I found a (potential) solution for it. This may be a bit outdated, but I figured I'd ponify this old video to heklp out anyone on this site, struggling in blender. I know the object itself isn't a pony, but I found this method can be applied across all models. Note: I got some pushback for this when I first put it on YT. It was met with 2 dislikes (a lot for a tiny channel like mine was) and some comments, saying its just normal for Blender to do this. Reviewing this, I did find that I meandered a bit (fixed in this upload). I respect what they were saying, but I still think it could help even a few people get their spark back.

Just a bit extra for you guys. The name of the model I'm using here is called Smiley. It's part of a series I'm hoping to bring to this channel, via letsplay style content. If you want to use something similar to this, to test this accuratekly, just use an ordinary sphere. It should give the same results. Also, be aware that if you add an object, it generally works normally until you rotate it off an Axis. If it isnt facing one axis directlly, that's when it tends to be at its worst.
